What I've been reading...
Simple days : a journal on what really matters / Marlene A. Schiwy
This is a great read if you're grappling with the age-old dilemma of whether to tone down the wage slavery
in favour of mindful creativeness that feeds the soul. Helps distinguish between "need" and "want."
I found several "a-ha" passages in here that made me stop and think.
Room full of mirrors : a biography of Jimi Hendrix / Charles R. Cross
Haven't read it yet, but I have seen Jimi's road diaries and some of those fabulous outfits at the EMP in Seattle.
I'm taking this one to Hornby Island for the weekend.
Finally finished (!) after three renewals:
The remarkable life of William Beebe : explorer and naturalist / Carol Grant Gould
These Edwardian gentlemen managed to accomplish so very much because they had all these great women around to back them up. Our William went through two wives and had a mistress, like, forever, but they were ahead of the curve in that aside from running the house and hosting cocktail hour, she worked in his lab doing groundbreaking work in biology.
Early pop star prototypes for sure.

Current Day Job:
I'm working on my second oral history project for Craigdarroch Castle, a national historic site in Victoria, BC.
